Windows 7 is configured to make driver installation as smooth as possible. By default it will always try to download appropriate and newer drivers from Windows Update. For most users that’s a great idea.
However, you may have custom drivers or require some level of control of the driver installation options.Follow these instructions to locate and configure the relatively difficult to locate driver installation options. Open Control Panel. Click the System icon. On the left side, click Advanced system settings as shown in Figure 1. In the Hardware tab, in the Device Installation Settings section click Device Installation Settings. This will display the Device Installation Settings dialog as shown in Figure 2. Select the option you want from the available choices:.
